What is the Gyeongseong Creature drama about 2023?

The year is 1945, and South Korea is under Japanese oppression. Jang TaeSang (Park SeoJoon) is a wealthy South Korean man who, despite the situation of his country, does not want to lose what he has and thus does not make any effort for justice. However, one day, when he encounters a woman named Yun ChaeOk (Han SoHee), everything will change.

Yun ChaOk, who has traveled to many places with her father since childhood, is a talented woman. She has become famous for her ability to find missing people in the country and has high survival skills due to her dangerous life. The young woman can handle any deadly weapon, be it a gun, a knife, or others. Her sole purpose is to find her mother who disappeared ten years ago.

When the paths of Jang TaeSang and Yun ChaOk cross, the two embark on a journey to investigate some mysterious events together. However, they will soon realize that a great love and danger await them on this journey.

Note: Gyeongseong means “capital” in Sino-Korean (Chinese origin). During the Joseon era, the city of Seoul was referred to by this name.

In the new series, Park SeoJoon portrays a wealthy man named Jang TaeSang. He is one of the most popular and attractive men in a country. Initially, his only concerns were his money and possessions, but everything changes when a woman named Yoon ChaeOk enters his life.

Han SoHee plays the character of Yoon ChaeOk in the new series, who embarks on a dangerous journey to find her missing mother. The young woman finds herself in Gyeongseong while following her mother’s trail, and the adventure begins.

Park SeoJoon is one of my favorite Korean actors. I’ve almost watched all the dramas he starred in. Han SoHee, on the other hand, was not someone I was initially drawn to, but after her extraordinary performance in My Name, my thoughts about her completely changed. There is no doubt that she is a talented actress. Wi HaJoon is also someone I noticed after Romance is a Bonus Book and Squid Game and have been following with admiration ever since.

The cast of Netflix’s new series is one of the reasons that raised my expectations. However, what makes Gyeongseong Creature the most exciting and intriguing series of 2023 for me is its magnificent story!

As a Chicago Typewriter fan, I believe that period dramas have a special charm of their own. Especially when these dramas feature brave and fearless characters fighting for their homeland and loved ones, the enjoyment and appeal of the series increase. That’s why Gyeongseong Creature is one of the most anticipated series for me this year.
